Plastic Money

Plastic money is actual cash made of super-resistant polymer film (instead of paper). Polymer money handles and feels like regular paper bills, but they last longer. Actually, most people can tell they're not made of traditional paper. In some countries, if you hold the local plastic bills up to a light, you may notice a small see-through window to confirm that the bill was printed on clear plastic film. However, the polymer used for manufacturing foreign money is as thick and just as rigid as American money. Did you know? Polymer technology originated in Australia, in 1988.
