Some countries in Africa and in the Caribbean print similar-looking bills, but each country puts its own distinctive mark on them. Usually, a letter is assigned to appear on a particular country’s money. The letter may appear by itself or as part of the bill’s serial number. These code letters may also change over time, meaning that the same letter may represent a different country, depending on the year of the bill.
